eCommerce Web Design & Development

Medialion builds online stores that sell — fast storefronts, frictionless checkout, and merchandising that moves product, from WooCommerce to custom carts.

Most online stores do not have a traffic problem. They have a friction problem: a checkout that asks for too much, a product page that answers too little, and a phone experience that is an afterthought. Every one of those is a leak between a visitor and a sale.

Medialion has spent 18 years building websites and custom digital tools for clients across the country. Today we do that work from Travelers Rest, South Carolina, for national brands and Upstate businesses alike — and commerce, from small focused catalogs to storefronts with real inventory and shipping logic, is a core part of that work.

Media Lion builds across many industries — see the full range on our Types of Work page.

Why a store needs more than a theme

The shops that actually convert are the ones that remove friction everywhere it hides. That means:

  • Product pages that answer the buyer’s real questions before they have to ask
  • A checkout that is fast on a phone and does not punish guests
  • Merchandising — bundles, cross-sells, collections — that raises average order value without feeling pushy
  • Fast load times, because on mobile every second of delay is measurable lost revenue

A storefront is not a catalog you put online. It is a salesperson that works every hour of every day, and it should be built like one.

What we build for eCommerce

We scope to the catalog and the operation behind it rather than dropping in a demo theme. The components we assemble most often:

  • Custom storefronts — on WooCommerce, Shopify-style setups, or a custom cart when the logic demands it
  • Frictionless checkout — guest checkout, saved carts, and payment, tax, and shipping rules that reflect how you actually ship
  • Merchandising systems — collections, bundles, and cross-sells that move product
  • Real inventory and operations — stock, variants, and fulfillment that connect to the tools your team already runs
  • Performance and SEO — fast product pages with the structured data that earns rich results

Selected work

The Brick Store

America’s oldest general store

The Brick Store is the oldest continuously operated general store in the country, in Bath, New Hampshire. The work was about carrying a two-century-old brand online without losing what makes it special — letting a historic shop sell to customers well beyond its village while still feeling like the place on the corner.

Natural Life Pet Products

specialty retail

A specialty pet brand where the storefront had to make a considered product line easy to browse, compare, and buy, with the merchandising and product detail that a discerning customer expects.

What matters on a commerce build

Selling online has its own set of non-negotiables. We treat them as baseline:

  • Mobile-first checkout. Most storefront traffic is on a phone; the buying flow is designed there first
  • Speed. Product and category pages tuned for Core Web Vitals, because latency is lost revenue
  • Trust signals. Clear pricing, shipping, and returns where shoppers look for them, plus secure, PCI-aware payment handling
  • SEO foundation. Product and collection schema so your catalog shows up the way it should in search

Built in the Upstate, working nationally
